Wheeling, West Virginia, December 3, 2014 – Eight Appalachian communities were among the 26 communities announced today by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and Delta Regional Authority (DRA) to receive technical support to integrate local food systems into community economic development action plans.

Mayor Darren West announced last week a Town Hall meeting for the City of Barbourville Monday, May 19, 2014 at 7 p.m. in community room of Forcht Bank on Knox Street.
“Council meetings are great, but we want to reach more residents of our City, to update, to get feedback, and take suggestions. Thank you Forcht Group of Kentucky for hosting this. Hope to see you there,” said Mayor West.
